Mater Dei is a comprehensive school including grades 9 through 12.
It is an interparochial Catholic High School operating under the auspices of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Evansville.
Graduation rates near 100%.
There are 43 faculty members, 80% of whom hold a Master’s degree.
The student-teacher ratio is approximately 14 to 1.
The school is accredited by the Indiana Department of Education and by AdvancED (formerly the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools).
Academic grades: the percentage system is the basis for all grades; letter grades are used for reporting purposes. The percentage of letter grades is as follows:
• There will be a semester exam or final project for every class which may comprise up to 20% of the student’s grade.
• Effort and conduct are reported to parents by means of coded comments on the report card.
• Questions about effort and conduct notations should be directed to the teacher making the notation.
A student’s grade point average (GPA) is computed on a four-point scale using semester grades in all classes. A class repeated is counted by using the second grade received. No grades are weighted in computing GPA. Mater Dei does not rank.
